STOLEN FLY-FISHING GEAR-ASCENT FLY-FISHING
Hey Folks,
Be on the lookout for anyone peddling fly-fishing gear on the South Platte River this weekend. Here’s a post that was put out from Peter, owner of Ascent Fly-fishing. If anyone tries to approach you on the river trying to sell gear, please decline and try to get a description of the person/persons, vehicle description/tag number, and location of where you were approached. Let’s try to catch these idiots and get the gear back to Ascent Fly-fishing. Thanks for all your help. I’ll be out on the river today, to inform those that are on the river today and this weekend to be on the lookout. Spread the word and maybe we can catch these fools.
From Peter, at Ascent Fly-fishing.
Unfortunately, we had a break-in at the Ascent Fly Shop last night.
Our guide trailer was cut open and much of our guide gear was stolen. We’re still taking inventory, but at this point we’re missing approximately:
• 10 rod and reel combos
• 4 nets
• 4 wading staffs
• Around 25 pairs of waders
• Multiple wading belts and other guide equipment
We’re asking our community to please keep an eye out for anyone attempting to sell used fly fishing gear matching this description. Most of our equipment is clearly marked with Ascent Fly Guides, guide numbers, or AFG written inside the gear.
This is certainly a frustrating setback, but we’re incredibly grateful for this community and your support. If you see anything suspicious, please reach out to us directly.
The good news? We’re still guiding, still fishing, and still committed to getting people on the water. If you have a guided trip booked with us, don’t worry—we’ll make sure you’re taken care of.
And today our Father’s Day Sale continues in the shop with discounts on flies, rods, starter kits, waders, and more.
Thank you for your support, your loyalty, and for helping us look out for one another.
Tight lines.
