My name is Christopher White, founder and owner of DiscoverDeckers.com®.
As a Colorado resident for more than twenty-two years and someone with a lifelong passion for the outdoors, I first discovered the Deckers area during a spring visit and immediately fell in love with the beauty of the South Platte River and its world-renowned fly fishing. After spending more than fifteen years working as a professional chef in the Denver area, I made the move to Deckers in 2014.
From April 2014 through June 2016, I was the sole resident living in Deckers while working at the Deckers Corner Café. During that time, I quickly noticed a significant lack of centralized information about the area. Because Deckers lost its municipality status and ZIP code many years ago and became part of Sedalia, finding accurate local information often meant searching through scattered sources across the internet.
I knew this was a problem that needed to be solved.
My vision was to create a single, reliable source of information that would help visitors navigate this incredible outdoor destination while also providing critical updates on forest alerts, fire restrictions, river conditions, and public safety information.
As more people discovered the South Platte River Valley, visitor numbers continued to grow. While that growth is wonderful for our local community, it also increases the risk of damage to the river, forests, and natural resources that make this area so special. I believed that providing accurate information and promoting responsible recreation could help preserve the beauty of Deckers for future generations.
With that goal in mind, I launched DiscoverDeckers.com® in June 2016.

We’ve taken the guesswork out of planning your visit so you can spend more time enjoying the outdoors.
