Greetings Everyone!
In light of the fact that I am still on the east coast visiting family, I’m going to keep the next few fishing reports to mostly the facts about the current river conditions, weather and upcoming outlook for the next week or so. Without being on the river daily, it’s hard to give you an idea of what’s working (bug-wise), or to share with you any beneficial observations that may help you on the river, considering that I’m on the east coast. With that being said, let’s get into the current conditions. Right now, in Decker’s/Trumbull, the sun is shining and the temperature is heating up! Looks like it’s going to be in the mid-80’s today, with a similar forecast for tomorrow. Flows below the dam are at 423 cfs in Cheesman Canyon, with it being slightly lower in Decker’s/Trumbull at 417 cfs. The nice thing about writing a daily fishing report, is that if I do have to miss a day of reporting on the river, you can easily look back at the last couple of reports to get an idea of what’s going on down here on the South Platte River. If you’re new to fishing Decker’s, or you’re a seasoned veteran of our river, stop in to Flies and Lies http://www.flies-n-lies.com and any of the guys in the shop will be glad to steer you towards the bugs that have been producing for them! It’s also a great time of year to take a half-day or full-day trip with some of the most knowledgeable fishing minds on the South Platte! Cabins are available for a day, week, or extended stay, so book yours today at http://www.southplatterivercabins.com. That’s all for now folks! Today’s picture gallery is a snapshot of my time here so far, in Bethany Beach, Delaware. Have a great Sunday afternoon and I’ll look forward to seeing you on the river!

Fishing report 9/20/2016
fishing reportGood Evening!
Keeping things pretty basic again tonight folks, as I inch closer to my return to Decker’s on Tuesday…Flows have been pretty consistent for the last week, allowing the heavy moss we have been seeing to settle down a bit. Looks like we’ve got some real fall weather heading in for the weekend, but temperatures will be in the upper 70’s and low 80’s for Wednesday and Thursday. Please refer to the USGS feed for current flows…Thanks for following along with me each day, as I explore and report the daily conditions of the South Platte River, Decker’s, Colorado..Until next time, have a great evening and I hope to see you on the river soon!

Decker’s Fishing Report 9/19/2016
fishing reportGood evening my friends, and welcome to the abbreviated version of today’s fishing report from Decker’s/Trumbull, Colorado! Keeping in mind that I’m not currently in Colorado, I’ll just be sharing a few of the facts of the current conditions and river flows. 420 cfs below the Cheesman Dam today, with 413 cfs in Decker’s/Trumbull. I’ve been speaking with a few of my fishing buddy’s while I’m gone and they’ve informed me that the evening BWO hatches are increasing as we inch closer to fall. Mornings are still productive with the Trico’s, then moving on to nymphing and dry-dropper rigs in the afternoon. As darkness falls, larger BWO’S, PMD’s, and streamers are also proving to produce nice fish! Next week when I return, I’m hoping to try a few egg patterns as we head into October and the brown trout spawn. Well, that’s probably enough information for today folks! Until next time, have a great evening and I hope to see you on the river next week.
