Clearing up!

July 22, 2016

Good “early” morning folks!! Getting on the trail early this morning, but first, here’s your South Platte River conditions report. We’ve got a slightly higher flow this morning out of Cheesman, running at 178(cfs) and 281 (cfs) at Trumbull. Decker’s is running at about 230-240 (cfs). The fishing has started to pick up  a little in the last few days. Last night the trout really seemed to turn back around my house in Trumbull, with lots of rising trout around 8pm.  I also saw many fish stacked up yesterday along the river from Trumbull that were chasing the occasional grasshopper or other terrestrial I saw floating downstream.  It’s heating up again, so stay hydrated out there and be aware of lightening associated with the monsoonal afternoon showers we’re expected to see over the weekend. I’ll be back later this afternoon to update you on the river and all the action here in the South Platte River Valley. Have a great day!
