Hello and thanks for visiting our site!
My name is Christopher White, owner and creator of DiscoverDeckers.com® As a twenty-two year resident of Colorado and having a passion for the great outdoors, one Spring day I stumbled upon and fell in love with the Decker’s area. Specifically, the South Platte River and its World Renown fly-fishing. After working as a professional Chef in Denver for over 15 years, I moved to Decker’s in 2014. As the sole resident of Decker’s from April of 2014 until June of 2016, and while working for the Decker’s Corner Cafe, I quickly noticed the the absence of information that was available about the area. This was a problem that I knew needed to be fixed. As Decker’s lost its own municipality status and its own zip code many years ago, as it became part of Sedalia, Colorado, you simply couldn’t find all the information about our small little town in one place, except for bits and pieces scattered around the internet. Therefore, I wanted to build a hub of information, to both help navigate this very popular outdoor recreational destination and to provide crucial forest alerts, fire restrictions, and river conditions. Understanding that the secret about this great place has been out for a long time, we’ve seen a huge increase in the amount of visitors to our area. Along with that comes an increase in risk of damaging or perhaps even destroying this area. I figured it was time to build something for this community to inform and educate the visitors to our area, in an attempt to perhaps curb the damage and destruction to the river and surrounding forests. Through accurate and up to date information and education, I believe we can get in front of many of the issues that we face in our forests today. With that being said, in June of 2016, I created and launched Discoverdeckers.com®. Whether you’re looking to book a local campsite, rent a private cabin, searching for that perfect place to fish, or perhaps you are looking for our best local hiking or biking trails, you can now locate everything you need, all in one location. We’ve simply taken the navigating and guessing off of your shoulders!
