ZUMA’S RESCUE RANCH
Partnership Based Equine Education Center
OUR MISSION
Through compassion based education and animal rescue, we are changing the perception of how horses are trained and animals are treated. Our Animal-Assisted learning programs are partnership based, where the animals and humans meet in an equal partnership.
Since 2004, the Messenich Family has dedicated their facility and lives to making the world a better place for horses and humans alike.
Paul, Jodi, and Victoria Messenich began their journey with horses in 1995 at a boarding facility in Colorado. Quickly, the family grew from 1 to 8 horses, prompting the purchase of land and building American Sport Horses. The family competed in the Hunter/Jumper world throughout the United States until Victoria went off to college in 2004. It was then the family rescued their first load of 7 horses, and after 4 years (and 20 plus rescue horses), Zuma’s Rescue Ranch was established as a charitable 501c3 organization. Ever since, the family and their supporters have saved hundreds of horses and changed the lives of as many (or more) humans.
